The Doggett's
Tim, Cheryl, Chelsie, Luke

Ministry Background
Tim and Cheryl have been serving the Lord in Africa since 1982. They are members of ACM International. From 1982 until 1996 Tim was a mission pilot/mechanic for ACM, and helped to meet transportation an support needs of missionaries and church workers in the country of the Congo (formerly Zaire). Cheryl operated the radio, was the flight coordinator and handled some purchasing and shipping of supplies (often along with several other tasks). In 1995 ACM made the decision to close down the missionaries work in the Congo and this included the aviation and support service. This process was completed by February 1996. In August of 1997 ACM and Tim & Cheryl made a decision to accept an invitation to work in cooperation with AIM AIR in Nairobi, Kenya. As of this writing (April 8, 1998) Tim and Cheryl are now in Nairobi, Kenya.
AIM AIR
AIM AIR is a part of African Inland Mission International, an interdenominational mission organization that serves 16 different countries in East and Central Africa. AIM AIR is the aviation branch of AIM International Services, which provides air transportation, and many other support services, for missionaries and church workers in this part of the world. Within AIM AIR itself there are an average of 25 families (Pilots, Mechanics, Radio Technicians, etc.) who operate up to 10 different aircraft. These aircraft are flown from 5 seperate bases (the main base of operation is located in Nairobi, Kenya). AIM AIR's ministry supports the work of many of God's servants, not only those who work with AIM but alos that of many others who represent mission/church organizations which share similar priorities.
AIM International's main goal is to "plant maturing churches of the Lord Jesus Christ through the evangelization of unreached people groups and the effective preparation of church leaders". The provision of aviation and support service enables those who are on the "front lines" to be more effective. It allows each of them to focus a lot more of their time and energy on the various tasks they are called, by God, to do.
In Africa Mission Aircraft Are Important!
They Provide:
- Transportation for evangelists and church planters (both national and missionary).
- Transportation for teachers (both national and missionary) who train church leaders.
- Transportation for medical personnel.
- Transportation for mission/church personnel traveling to an from Kenya.
- Transportation of missionary children traveling to and from school.
- Transportation of supplies for those who live in isolated areas.
- Transportation of medical supplies for hospitals and clinics.
- Transportation of those in need of urgent medical care - Air Ambulance.
